Contemporary Row Home
Inside: three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, garage, proper dining room, new kitchen, fireplace, hardwood floors, center air, roof deck.
On a recent walk about town, we had the pleasure of viewing a wonderful row house that has lately been put on the market.
As you enter, you have the option of walking down the stairs into a cozy living room, with wood-burning fireplace, or walking up into a beautiful kitchen with an adjacent dining room that overlooks the living room. Because of the home’s corner location, there are many windows. The living areas are extremely light, airy, and open.
Starting at the ground level, there is a one-car garage. Having a garage in the city is very, very important. Anyone who lacks one, and has spent hours looking for parking, will tell you, a garage in this part of Philadelphia is like hitting the row house lottery. Slightly downstairs from the garage is a small bedroom with a full bathroom, perfect for guests who may desire privacy during their stay. Then it’s up the stairs into the living room, and further up to the kitchen. The kitchen, a Bulthaup Custom Kitchen, is well planned with plenty of workspace, modern appliances, and a clean design.
Continuing upwards, you have the master bathroom and master bedroom. Both are spacious and accommodating (two sinks!). Finally, on the third floor is a bedroom with wonderful views, a cathedral ceiling, custom California Closets, and French doors leading to the roof deck. The roof deck is big enough to entertain guests. The owners mention that the roof and deck are new.
With comfortable space for everything, family life, dinner parties, overnight guests, moon gazing, there isn’t much more anyone could ask for from an urban row house.
The house is located in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, which offers the best of city living – restaurants, shopping, nightlife, art, all within walking distance. Additionally, it falls within the encachment for the desirable Meredith Elementary School (K-8).
